STEP 1:
Make sure the surface is clean and dry- use Windex or rubbing alcohol
to clean, then dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth or paper towel. |
STEP 2:
Slowly separate your decal, still attached to the application tape,
from the backing. Be sure you do not touch the adhesive, or allow any dirt
to get on it. |
STEP 3:
Position your decal where you want it, and make sure it is level and
lined up. Be careful NOT to let your decal touch yet. Once it
touches you will not be able to lift without damaging it. |
STEP 4:
Once positioned, run your hand over the decal from one side to the
other, applying the decal as you go. Move in a slow, uniform method. |
|
STEP 5:
Now, go over the entire decal with a stiff, flat edge. A plastic putty
knife, old credit card, etc. works nicely. This ensures good adhesion
and activates the pressure sensitive glue. |
STEP 6:
SLOWLY, begin to peel the application tape back. This works best if you
pull it flat against the surface as pictured. |
STEP 7:
Remember... I said slowly. :)
If any of the small or detailed parts start to
come up with the application tape, simply work them back down and repeat
step 5 and 6. |
STEP 8:
You're done! Stand back and admire your handy work!

Some notes, Care and Maintenance:
- You may, on some larger
applications, notice some small air
bubbles. This is not uncommon, and they will go away on their own.
Some you can force out gently, but don't over work them, you can damage
the decal.
- The decal will clean up much the
same way as the rest of the car- Car wash soap and water is your
best bet. Treat the decal like you would your car's finish-
no abrasive cleaners or sponges, etc.
- You can wax over the decal, but
its strongly recommended you hand-wax and not use a buffer.
- Keep any and all solvents, fuels,
etc away from your decal. It is made from vinyl and will be
damaged.
- Your decal should last many years
with normal care, but its life can be affected by severe
conditions or improper care as mentioned above.
Some DON'Ts:
- Don't use any abrasives to clean
the car OR the decal. This includes stiff brushes.
- Don't use any solvents on or near
your decal.
- Don't scrape with an ice scraper,
it will destroy the decal. Use a liquid deicer or built-in defroster, if
on a window.
- It is not recommended you apply
your decal where a rear wiper will touch it. While it is done
often (And I have one or two on my rear window) excessive or dry wiper
use can affect the decal.
